Ingredients for Pomegranate Molasses

  • Fresh pomegranate juice, 4 Cups (946 ml)
  • Low-carb sweetener, 1/2 Cup to 2/3 Cup
  • Juice of one lemon

Instructions for Pomegranate Molasses

1.In a saucepan, boil pomegranate juice, sweetener, and lemon juice over a medium high heat.

2.Reduce the temperature to a medium low heat when it starts to boil.

3.Simmer for about 45 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

4.Reduce the temperature slightly and simmer for ten more minutes until the mixture coats a spoon.

5.Let it cool completely. Move the molasses to the a sterilised container and store in the refrigerator. Use it to make a salad dressing or a basis for main dishes or desserts.

How to Use Pomegranate Molasses

Use the home-made pomegranate molasses to make a special salad dressing for the year-end holiday season. Add 2 or 3 Tablespoons of pomegranate molasses to 4 Tablespoons of olive oil, 1 Tablespoon of vinegar, and a pinch of sea salt and black pepper and shake well. Drizzle over your festive salad right before you serve.

You can also use pomegranate molasses for your main dish. Mix 1 Cup of pomegranate molasses with 1/2 Cup of chicken stock to make a delicious glaze for a one-pan pomegranate glazed chicken.
